Dee Johnson has over 30 years of experience in education. Johnson started as an instructional assistant in various grade levels. Then taught various grade levels including special education. Johnson was an assistant principal for 4 1/2 years and principal for 14 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in psychology, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration with emphasis on effective communication, a teaching credential, administrator credential, and the full American Montessori Society (AMS) Administrator credential from the College of New Rochelle, New York. Johnson has had expert training and experience in school budgets and finance as well as district and state budgets from Total School Solutions/ACSA and have had successful on the job experience.
As a previous member of three different unions (CSEA, STA, USA), Dee Johnson fully supports and understands the needs of all staff members and their roles in supporting student achievement. Johnson's primary focus is on raising student achievement and enabling every student in our public school system to have every opportunity to succeed at his or her highest potential.
